A Visit to Moneymore and Lissan House

17th June 2023 @ 10:15 am - 4:00 pm

£27.50

Nestled below the Sperrin hills, the characterful village of Moneymore exudes a wealth of architectural heritage and charm. On Saturday 17th June we will be joined by architect Keith Gilmour as we look at the fine buildings within the Conservation Area of the village and learn about their restoration and re-use. We will meet at The Manor House on High Street at 10.15 am where members of Moneymore Heritage Trust will talk about their involvement in local restoration projects that have preserved and enhanced the local area.

After a walking tour of the village, members will travel to Lissan House, Cookstown, where they can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the beautiful grounds. A finalist in the 2003 BBC Restoration programme, Lissan House has since been brought back to life having undergone its own magnificent restoration; thanks in great part to the dedication and hard work of the ‘Friends of Lissan House Trust’.

In the afternoon there will be a tour of the house after which tea, coffee and scones will be provided. Our visit concludes at approximately 4 pm.

Timings: 10.15 – 4 pm (approx.)
