A Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate the Life and Interests of Dorinda, Lady Dunleath, will be held at Down Cathedral, Downpatrick on Wednesday September 28, 2022 at 4pm. All are most welcome. Bright colours please. It will be followed by refreshments, and a short organ recital at 7.00pm by Professor Desmond Hunter with the Balligan Consort celebrating the life and work of the late Lord and Lady Dunleath through the influential Music in May festival (1970-1980).
The organ recital programme with include a Fantasia by William Byrd, a setting of the Magnificat by John Redford (with the Balligan Consort), the Fantasy-fanfare that Philip Hammond wrote for the planned Music in May celebration in 2020, and works by Brahms and J. S. Bach (BWV654 and BWV547).
Lady Dunleath was a founding member of the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society. A memorial was published on our website earlier this year.
