UAH are delighted to announce a range of exciting online activities to coincide with our Doorways Tell Stories Open Heritage programmes.
Doorways Tell Stories is an immersive project, telling the stories of Belfast’s history and heritage through their most prominent architectural feature; the front door. Our booklet documenting 30 iconic doors across the city is available online, access it via our website to learn the history of significant doorways across the city. Using the booklet, we can learn how we can use the architecture of these doors to learn so much about each building, their age, history, and what they were used for in the past!
We have developed an online story-map, locating all 30 doors that are in the booklet, so you can design your own walking tour, or just view each individual door from the comfort of your own home!
Local artist Lisa Anderson has interpreted 6 of our most significant doors into beautiful line drawings, available now to download, print off, and colour-in, suitable for young people or adults seeking a mindful moment! Our drawings include Ocean Buildings, Pottinger’s Entry and St Patrick’s Church, downloads are available now via our website!
