Gill Allmond
Gill Allmond is a buildings researcher and archaeologist currently working for the Historic Environment Division. She began her career as a researcher on the Second Survey and subsequently completed a study of Edwardian asylum buildings for her PhD, now published as Village and Colony Asylums of Britain, Ireland and Germany 1880-1914. Having focussed for several years on institutional buildings, she nevertheless maintains an interest in any and all historic buildings and can often be found, Covid permitting, poring happily through the valuation maps and records at PRONI.

This project is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
