Description

Northern Gardens is the outcome of The Northern Ireland Heritage Gardens Committee’s aim to compile a list of gardens and parks in Northern Ireland which are of outstanding international importance.

This Booklet contains a brief overview of the history of gardening on the island of Ireland, and contains a catalogue of the most important gardens in Northern Ireland based on their style of gardening, their integral setting for a house of historic or architectural importance, their links to persons or institutions, because they illustrate an aspect of the development of gardens and parks in Northern Ireland or because of their work to conserve specific plants.
