{"id":906,"date":"2017-11-01T12:00:52","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T12:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ulsterarchitecturalheritage.org.uk\/?page_id=906"},"modified":"2018-04-04T12:30:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-04T11:30:41","slug":"meanwhile-uses","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ulsterarchitecturalheritage.org.uk\/built-heritage-risk\/meanwhile-uses\/","title":{"rendered":"Meanwhile Uses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The latest UAHS research on \u2018Meanwhile Uses\u2019 is available <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uahs.org.uk\/cmsfiles\/Meanwhile-to-Meaningful--Meanwhile-Uses-for-vacant-historic-buildings-UAHS-April-2013.pdf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a><strong> to download in PDF format.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The research addresses the problem of heritage crime by encouraging interim and \u2018meanwhile\u2019 occupation of vacant historic buildings. It also encourages owners and end users to think in the short and medium term until a sustainable long term use can be found for vacant Listed Buildings. The report gives an overview of all the issues that need to be considered to implement a \u2018meanwhile\u2019 or \u2018pop\u2013up\u2019 use, and also goes as far as to encourage \u2018guardian\u2019 tenants.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Meanwhile Uses\u2019 are \u2018popping up\u2019 all over the UK with some local examples here in Northern Ireland.
