Marcus Patton, local illustrator, historian and conservation architect will talk about Central Belfast: An\u00a0Historical Gazetteer and Beside Book of Dormers and Other Delights.\u00a0Dr. Paul Harron will talk about the influential provincial practice Young and MacKenzie.\u00a0Dr. Tanja Poppelreuter lecturer of architecture formerly based\u00a0at Ulster University will present on\u00a0our most recent publication Glamour and Gloom: 1930s\u00a0architecture in Belfast. All this to celebrate Belfast Book Festival in the appropriate surroundings of the Carnegie Oldpark Library a current building at risk. Find out more about the\u00a0steel magnate and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and his dedication to\u00a0supporting libraries\u00a0and making education open to all\u00a0through the tours of the building. Carnegie Oldpark is one of three Carnegie\u00a0libraries in Belfast currently this is the only one on the Buildings at Risk Register (BHARNI).<\/p>\n

Come join us for one or all three of our authors talks and book signings.\u00a0There will also be tours of the building before and\u00a0after the authors\u00a0where you can hear about the exiting work going on to help\u00a0bring Carnegie Oldpark Library back to life.
