A brief biography of the architect Roger Mulholland and a review of his work in Belfast in the 18th to 19th Century.

C.E.B. Brett became aware of the architect’s work through general research into the history of Belfast’s buildings, and wanted to collate the information he had discovered. Mulholland’s works included the First Presbyterian Church in Rosemary Street, as well as various residential developments and also having a hand in the layout of the White Linen Hall.

Brett has once again created an interesting and informative book which casts a light on a multi-layered individual who walked the tightrope between ambitions for commercial enterprise and high architecture.
