An account of J.J. McCarthy and his work in 19th Century Ireland.

J.J. McCarthy, or “the Irish Pugin” was a prolific designer of churches and other ecclesiastical buildings in the Gothic revival style. In this book, Sheehy extensively catalogues the work of McCarthy who’s work included, to name but a few, the church of St. Kevin in Glendalough, the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Armagh, the Convent of Mercy in Belfast, and St. Patrick’s Church in Dungannon.
