Our stay will be based in Leith and will centre on visits to buildings in the Leith and central Edinburgh areas. We will meet on Friday evening for a talk and evening meal in Leith. On Saturday morning we will commence with a tour of the surrounding area with visits to key buildings such as Customs House Leith, Custom Land and other historic sites. We will take a guided tour of Calton Hill which will include a talk on the former Royal High School campaign, followed by a walking tour taking us through the beautiful Georgian New Town. Day 2 will be completed with drinks at the AHSS Forth and Borders Treasurer’s house, Mrs Caroline McFarlane, at St. Bernard’s Crescent, late afternoon on the 6th October, allowing time for return travel that evening.
